coxbangla report :: Indian High Commissioner Prannoy Verma visited Gandhi Ashram in Noakhali and paid deep tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 75th death anniversary.
He visited the Gandhi Ashram on Monday (30 January) and paid his respects.
The Ashram commemorates Bapu’s ‘Peace Mission’ to Noakhali in 1946 and his message of non-violence and communal harmony.
The High Commissioner also participated in a discussion on ‘Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in the Contemporary World’ organized by the Gandhi Ashram Trust.
Assistant high commissioner of India,Chittagong Dr. Rajeev Ranjan,Members of the Trust, local political leaders, representatives of the local administration as well as civil society and academics attended this exchange meeting.
High Commissioner Verma in his speech emphasized on guiding us to confront today’s global extremism and terrorism in the guiding light of Gandhiji’s philosophy of truth, humanism and non-violence.
Gandhiji believed in harmony with nature.His determination to empower the poorest And emphasizes the message of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ This inspired the ‘One World, One Family, One Future’ policy adopted by India for the G20 Presidency.
