Sib Sankar Modak(13 january) :: Vivekananda Shiksha O Sangskriti Parishad (VSSP) Bangladesh observed 155th birth anniversary of Swamiji. The programme includes special prayer, amity & peace rally, discussion, distribution of Vivekananda stipend and educational materials at Jagannath Hall, Dhaka University on january 12 friday at morning. Discussion titled, Swami Vivekananda–“Harmony & Peace” was held where Obaidul Quader MP, Road Transport& Bridges Minister & GS Bangladesh Awami League was present as chief guest. Srimat Swami Dhruveshanandaji Maharaj , Secretary of Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission & Patron in Chief( VSSP) was present as guest of honor. Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmed Pro VC(academic) DU, Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharta distinguished fellow of CPD, Professor Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal president DUTA, Milon Kanti Datta, president central governing body of VSSP, Professor Dr. Ashim Sarkar, provost Jagannath Hall DU were present as special guests. Dr.Chandranath Podder, president VSSP Bangladesh, presided over the event where Jaharlal Das, Akhil Chandra Bhowmik, Nirmal K Chatterjee spoke among others.
Minister Obaidul Quader said, ” Swami Vivekananda was a versatile genius, in the course of a short span of life hardly covering only 39 years , He attained a high degree of spiritual excellence.” Swamiji’s love for humanity finds its finest manifestation when he says ” Jibe prem kare jai jan , shei jan shebicche Iswar”—-its english rendering means ” He who serves man, serves God”. This time-honoured saying of Swamij Vivekananda has by now become a worldly phenomenon.
